K's birth
Slowly, oh so slowly, I'll update this website :-) Sorry folks - the day job keeps me from the passion job.
This is ONE picture from the second birth I photographed over a year ago (more will be posted here, eventually) - I had dismissed this photo when I was editing for the parents, but I just found it today and absolutely love it. Sorry Raegan, for not sharing it sooner :-) - this is the midwife's hand, holding the baby's as she checks him over.

The birth that started it all....
This is the first birth I photographed. The birth of my grandson, London. I was new to my camera, had never attended a birth (other than my own) before, and from the minute I pressed the shutter button for the first time, I was hooked! These aren't the best quality. I was torn between my role as mother of the birthing mom and photographer. All I had to work with was the generic kit lens and some horrible lighting (that's why the pictures look so grainy)
Now I know what I am doing, I have a better camera, much better lenses - my daughter is currently pregnant again and can't wait to see the pictures I can capture this time around! But since this birth started the whole thing, I absolutely HAVE to include these pictures.

The midwives and doula peeking in....
Watching and waiting....

And finally, the moment of....

This is that once in a lifetime moment, and even with the camera shake (wow was I excited in this moment!), I was able to freeze it. That's what its about! That's why I love this so much.
And then it was over....look at that baby looking up at his momma. Awww!
